Sewing Needle Case Necklaces
For a woman to have metal needles in Medieval times was certainly a status symbol as most were crafted from bone. The metal needles were expensive and fragile, therefore most were often carried about the person in an elaborate case on a necklace.

These hand crafted needle cases are made by a local silver smith and are adorned with a variety of hand selected items from dragons, wizards and filigree work to assorted gemstones and glass beads. Each have a necklace chain permanently attached to the case with the cap sliding up the chain so it can be opened but not lost.

Chain length to top of case measures approx. 24" with a lobster claw clasp at the back. The open case has an interior dimension of approx. 2 1/2" deep and 1/4" across with approx 1/2" of spare room inside the cap. What do you put in them?? Hazel keeps garnet granules in hers. Ideas are only limited by the imagination. Matching earrings included. No two sewing needle cases are ever created alike.

Tourmalinated Quartz Sewing Needle Case
This sewing needle case is decorated with a cherub at the center. Above and below are rhinestone accents. The bottom of the case is adorned with a genuine Tourmalinated Quartz crystal. The ends of the chain are decorated with smoky colored beads. The cap of the case is decorated with four rhinestones and topped with a genuine Onyx disc. Total length of the needle case is approx. 4 3/4" (including dangles). The coordinating earrings are opaque black and smoky colored beads on sterling silver ear posts. One earring has two chains that drape to an ear cuff.

Citrine & Jasper Sewing Needle Case
This sewing needle case is decorated with a gold tone Egyptian ankh and rhinestone crook at the center. Above it is a gold tone owl and below is a rhinestone bee. The bottom of the case is adorned with a genuine Citrine crystal. The ends of the chain are decorated with amber colored beads. The cap of the case is decorated with a hollow bell and topped with a genuine Jasper ball with amber colored beads. Total length of the needle case is approx. 4 1/2". This sewing needle case is decorated with a fairy garden accented with red and clear rhinestones. The bottom of the case is adorned with a genuine Fluorite crystal. The ends of the chain are decorated with Rose Quartz and Garnet beads separated by a red bead that coordinates with the red rhinestone below the fairy. This sewing needle case is decorated with a wizard at the center holding a small clear glass sphere above and below are two filigree items set with marcasite stones with the larger one at the bottom containing black onyx. The bottom of the case is adorned with a lapis lazuli and silver bead. The ends of the chain are decorated with amethyst beads and blue glass beads. The cap of the case has a skull on it with an amethyst and silver bead above. Total length of the needle case is approx. 4 1/2" (including dangles). This rustic, old world looking sewing needle case is entwined with chain and decorated with an Egyptian ankh at the center, a silver dragon below holding a small clear glass sphere, and a red glass bead above. The bottom of the case encases a quartz crystal and pink rhodonite, hematite and glass beads hang from the bottom of the chains. A non-clapper bell adorns the top of the case.
